An active act of remembering, dedicated to US Service members who have lost their lives in Iraq & Afghanistan, as well as those who continue to serve.
Q. Is this a non-profit organization?
A. Yes. All donations are tax deductable.
Q. What is the money being raised for and how will it benefit Remembrance?
ALL monies raised go directly to the RMCT to be used for upkeep of the memorial, travel expenses to and from exhibit sites, ordering of new display cases to house recent casualties, and the beginning of the Remembrance Fund which will be used to help military families in need of financial assistance. The Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteer members. They are NOT paid employees.
Q. How do I know if I am ready to walk a 5K?
A. Most anyone in average health can participate. The average time to walk a 5K is an hour and 15 minutes.
Q. Will there be ample parking at the Walk Site?
A. Yes – the event will be held at Colt State Park Route 114, Bristol, Rhode Island. We will be gathering at Site 1 where there will be plenty of parking. Enter at main entrance and follow the markers to the parking area.
Q. When is the Walk?
A. Saturday October 15, 2011. Onsite registration and delivering of last-minute donations will be accepted starting at 9 a.m. Step off is at 10 a.m.
Q. Can I register for the walk on-site or do I have to pre-register?
A. Yes, however we would prefer that you pre-register your team directly on the web site and encourage your team members to donate beforehand so we will have an idea of how many people to expect on walk day. The walk is actually a day for celebrating the efforts of all participants even if you or a team member are not able to come the day of the event.
Q. Will the 5K walk be timed
A. No, this is not a competition. It is our first annual event and we want it to be a time where people can come together in Remembrance of all U.S. service members who have sacrificed their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as those currently serving– a time of reflection – a time where people can connect to community for support.
Q. What if I can’t walk the entire 5K?
A. Again, this is not a timed event or competition. You may stop at any time.
Q. If I would prefer not to walk, but want to participate in the walk celebration, can I do that?
A. Yes, all are welcome to attend. You may want to stand along the walk path and hand out water or just cheer on the teams as they pass.
Q. Even though I’d love to make it to the event… if I can’t make it, can I still donate?
A. Yes, go to the pay pal donate tab and donate directly to a team or individual walker. Or you can mail a check payable to: RMCT, 3275 Riverside Ave., Somerset MA 02726
Q. Do volunteers need to register?
A. Yes, this way we can keep a tally of who will be volunteering and give us an idea of tables/activities
Q. What is the cost to register?
A. There is no registration fee for teams or individual walkers. All donations will come from monies raised by the teams or individual walkers. You may walk as an individual, start a team, or join a team. Please see links for details.
Q. Will there be T-Shirts?
A. Yes, but only for individuals who raise $100.00 or more. This is our first 5K Walk fundraiser and we are not sure how many will attend or how much we will raise. This may change for the 2nd annual walk.
Q. Can I bring a stroller?
A. Yes! Children of all ages are welcome.
Q. I don’t want to use a credit card, can I send a check?

Q. I hear there is a raffle, can I donate a service or gift card/certificate?
